Man United star hails the 'McTerminator' as he shows his love for Hampden goal hero

Manchester United strike star Bruno Fernandes shared his nickname for Scotland hero Scott McTominay as he praised the Tartan Army darling for his two-goal show at Hampden against Spain.

Old Trafford’s Portuguese frontman was delighted for his Red Devils team-mate after he put his own country’s fierce Iberian rivals with a double in their Euro 2024 qualifier. And Fernandes shared a clip of McTominay celebrating on his Instagram story with the caption 'What a player mcterminator’.

McTominay netted a couple of doubles during the international break for Steve Clarke’s men, coming off the bench to put a bit of gloss on the 3-0 win over Cyprus before stunning former world champions Spain in Glasgow. Fernandes’ Portugal also enjoyed a successful start to their Road to Germany qualifying campaign with thumping wins over minnows Luxembourg and Liechtenstein, scoring an aggregate of 10 goals without reply.

Now the duo will turn their attention to cub level and their push for a top four place in the English Premier League for Erik ten Hag’s men. They face one of their Champions League place rivals Newcastle United on Sunday at a time when McTominay has been been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park.

He has struggled to cement a place in the Red Devils side under Dutchman Ten Hag but has a huge opportunity with one of his main midfield rivals Casemiro suspended for four games following the Brazilian’s recent red card against Southampton.
