Man United receive new Liam Delap transfer update as star 'chooses' next club
Manchester United are on the verge of the summer transfer window and Ruben Amorim will have his heart set on a full clear out of the team.
MEN Sport understands that the priority for the Reds will be to improve their attack. United have been blunt this season and that has seen them languishing in the bottom half of the table.
Matheus Cunha is set to be United's first signing for that area of the pitch and Ipswich Town's Liam Delap is also seen as a priority. With this in mind, the Manchester Evening News are looking at the latest reports surrounding Delap and another attacker.
According to The Guardian, United are going to be joined in the race to sign Delap by Chelsea and Newcastle. While the Reds have the centre-forward at the top of their wishlist, it is believed the 22-year-old has a measured approach to his next move and is willing to speak with all interested clubs before making his mind up.
What MEN Sport says: For United, this update will be a blow for them as they would have been hoping to get Delap snapped up early to move on to other targets. While they have managed to breeze past the opposition to sign Cunha, the battle for Delap seems to be a much trickier one entirely.
At £30m, the forward represents a steal and the concern in the United camp will be that Newcastle and Chelsea have had much better Premier League seasons and this likely makes them more attractive propositions for signings.
According to TBR Football, Lyon winger Rayan Cherki has his heart set on a move to a 'top' English club this summer. It is believed the attacking midfielder will be available for approximately £20m and that has led to interest from a host of Premier League clubs.
It is believed that some in Cherki's camp wish to see
