Man United Qualcomm deal explained amid huge transfer boost as £60m move confirmed

Manchester United have confirmed a partnership with Qualcomm’s brand Snapdragon, with the club sharing an advert that features club legend Eric Cantona, right in time for the transfer window.

The deal, originally confirmed back in September, was for Snapdragon to be used on the front of United shirts for the 2024/25 season. It brings an end to a sponsorship deal with TeamViewer, who have featured on the club’s shirts since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The agreement with Qualcomm will serve as a significant financial boost to the club, which could be beneficial in the current summer transfer window. The new sponsorship deal is worth £60 million per season.

That is a significant increase from the £47 million per year deal between United and Snapdragon. It is almost back to the levels of the deal between United and Chevrolet before the pandemic which was worth £64 million per year.

Snapdragon released the advert with Cantona last month to announce the sponsorship. "How do you measure your passion?" Cantona says to nostalgic United footage. "Because this beautiful game is more than just numbers. It's about billions of voices singing as one.

"It's about emotion, heart and creating memories we never forget. Some think it's the number on the back of the jersey that matters. But if you ask me? It's what's on the front."

United have today shared the video on their official social media channels. On X, they wrote: “This beautiful game is more than just numbers. Welcome on board, @Snapdragon.”

United have not disclosed how long the sponsorship deal runs
