Man United name three-man left-back January transfer shortlist as new midfielder identified

Manchester United are back in action when they travel to Southampton on Saturday. Erik ten Hag's side have made a disappointing start to their Premier League campaign, winning just one of their three matches.

They began the season with a 1-0 win over Fulham thanks to a late strike from Joshua Zirkzee. However, United have since lost back-to-back matches. First, Ten Hag's men were beaten 2-1 at Brighton before they suffered a 3-0 defeat against Liverpool at Old Trafford. It means United sit 14th in the Premier League table.

In the meantime, several transfer rumours have been floating around surrounding United players, despite the window closing 11 days ago. Here, Manchester Evening News take a look at some of the gossip...

Fulham's Antonee Robinson, Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez and Brest's Bradley Locko are on a shortlist of potential targets for Manchester United in January as they search for competition for Luke Shaw.

GIVEMESPORT name the trio as potential targets with a new left back said to be a 'top priority' for Erik ten Hag. The report adds that United are becoming 'frustrated' with Shaw's injury absences, and will therefore turn to the transfer market in the winter.

MEN says: I urged United to go and sign another left-back in the summer, but in the end, they didn't end up signing one. They could end up regretting that decision and it doesn't surprise me to see that the club are planning to bring someone in when the January transfer window comes around.
