Man United 'line up shock transfer for ex-Premier League striker' as £25m option emerges
The summer transfer window is in full swing, and already Manchester United are being tipped to make several new signings in the months ahead.
United have already completed their first signing of the summer, with Matheus Cunha arriving from Wolves.
United agreed to pay the £62.5million release clause in the Brazilian's contract, and will now prepare to have the playmaker in their squad going into next season.
Ruben Amorim will hope to have several more new additions to his squad by the time the 2025/26 Premier League gets underway in August.
With the transfer window now open, United have the chance to bring in the reinforcements they desire ahead of the new campaign.
Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look at some of the latest United transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
United are reportedly showing an interest in signing Al-Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
A report from talkSPORT has claimed that Mitrovic is a player of interest to United, who will face competition from West Ham and Everton for the former Fulham striker.
The report claims that the Serbia international could return to the Premier League, with Al-Hilal open to letting Mitrovic leave the club either on loan or on a permanent deal this summer as they plan to fund further transfers.
MEN Sport says: United are being linked with a host of potential new strikers, with Mitrovic being the latest name mentioned on the rumour mill. At 30 years old, Mitrovic would not be a long-term signing for United, and while he does have a pretty impressive Premier League record, he is surely not the profile the club will target this summer.
United are also said to be keen on a move for Feyenoord midfielder Quinten Timber.
