Man United legend Roy Keane confirms future management plans after failed Sunderland talks

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has confirmed he has no desire to return to management.

Keane managed Sunderland and Ispwich after hanging up his boots and he had spells with the Republic of Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest in assistant roles following those jobs. Keane now regularly works in punditry for Sky Sports.

The former United captain has become a favourite on television for his no-nonsense approach, but he recently was in talks to swap punditry for a return to management. Sunderland were in talks with Keane but no agreement was reached.

Just two months after those talks with Sunderland collapsed, Keane has been asked to reveal his future plans.

The 50-year-old confirmed that he has no intention to return to management despite considering it earlier this year.

"I did up to recently, but I almost feel recently, them days are over for me now, going back into management," Keane told LADbible when asked if he feels like a manager that does punditry.

"I really feel like that. I'm 50 now, I'm doing the TV. Obviously, I'm labelled as more of a pundit now.

"But no, no, I feel I'm getting my head round it. It's maybe more of a head job that maybe that is the role for me and over the next few years, I think I can't see a club really giving me a real good opportunity to get back into it.

"But I don't mind that either. I'm not fearful of going, 'Well, you might do the TV for the next two or three years.' I'm fine with that, because I do count my blessings, because I know, as you know, there's a lot of ex-players looking to get back into it.

"Yeah, I'm okay with that."
