Man United handed dream Eberechi Eze transfer scenario as £68m boost emerges
Manchester United have been handed a boost amid interest in Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze.
The Manchester Evening Newsreported in September last year that United have been monitoring Eze. The Palace forward reportedly has a £60million release clause in his contract, plus a further £8m in add-ons.
Eze is also thought to be drawing interest from elsewhere, with Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also among the clubs linked. It has been thought that their involvement in the Champions League next season may put United at a disadvantage, with the lure of Europe's elite competition giving the Gunners and Spurs an edge over Ruben Amorim's side.
But if the 26-year-old sees Old Trafford as his preferred destination, then the potential finances involved in completing a deal may now reportedly be easier. TBR Football claim that Palace are open to Eze’s release clause being paid in instalments if a club offers slightly more than his £60m release clause.
It is said that Palace want around £25m to £30m paid up front and then £30m to £35m being paid over two instalments. The Eagles allowed Michael Olise to join Bayern Munich under similar terms, with the German club paying Olise's release clause in instalments.
The MEN understands that United intend to sign a goalkeeper and striker this summer in what is shaping up to be a drastic transfer window at the Reds. Amorim may also want another attacker, with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho facing uncertain futures at M16. Alejandro Garnacho has also been linked with a move away.
Eze has scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists for Palace across all competitions this season, but the Eagles' potential participation in Europe next term may improve their chances of keeping
