Man United already have four-year Sander Berge transfer headstart after 'insider' message

Burnley midfielder Sander Berge is reportedly a target for Manchester United this summer. The Norway international emerged as a shock alternative to Manuel Ugarte after interest in the Paris Saint-Germain star cooled.

Berge, who is valued in the region of £30million by Burnley, is said to be open to a move to Old Trafford. He is one of many players said to be on United's radar alongside Monaco's Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot.

The Burnley midfielder joined the Clarets last summer from Sheffield United after helping them return to the Premier League. However, he couldn't help keep Vincent Kompany's men in the top-flight.

United aren't expected to rush their decision for a new midfielder despite Erik ten Hag's lack of options in midfield. However, with three weeks until the transfer window closes, the priority remains on adding a new central midfielder and centre-back.

Doubts over Berge's quality have increased over the last few days following his link to Old Trafford. However, former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken highly of the Norwegian and previously admitted how he was on the club's radar four years ago.
