Man United: Alessia Russo scores two brilliant headers at Old Trafford

Alessia Russo scored two brilliant headers at Old Trafford as Manchester United defeated Everton 3-1 in the Women’s Super League.

The Red Devils came from behind to triumph after Claire Emslie gave the Toffees a shock lead in the third minute.

The winger was set free down the left hand side of the pitch, bursting forward before cooly slotting the ball home past goalkeeper Mary Earps.

Manchester United searched for an equaliser for the next 30 minutes before Russo scored her first header of the match, a fantastic looping effort from an Ona Batlle cross.

The score was level as the teams went into the break, but the Red Devils were awarded a penalty soon after the restart after Martha Thomas was fouled by Lucy Graham.

Katie Zelem converted from the spot, putting the hosts into the lead for the first time.

Russo was then back on the scoresheet, grabbing yet another headed goal in the 84th minute.
