Man United accelerate £67m transfer plan to hijack Liverpool bid for 'next Mohamed Salah'

Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to keep tabs on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with the Napoli star yet to sign to a new contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Kvaratskhelia, whose deal runs until 2027, has been the subject of significant speculation over the past months, with reports suggesting he's open to a move to the Premier League. Reports suggest that Liverpool are also interested in securing the services of the 23-year-old winger.

Despite rumours swirling about his future since the summer, Kvaratskhelia has enjoyed a strong start to the season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the first eight Serie A games. The Georgia international, who has racked up nearly a hundred appearances for Napoli, boasts an impressive tally of 29 goals and 28 assists.

Prior to his time in Naples, Kvaratskhelia played for Rubin Kazan, FC Rustavi, Dinamo Batumi, Lokomotiv Moscow, and Dinamo Tbilisi. United's interest was piqued further when Kvaratskhelia netted a goal against Empoli, according to reports from Tuttomercatoweb.

Despite his contract duration, persuading Napoli to part with Kvaratskhelia will be no mean feat, reports the Mirror. Amidst this, the player's agent hinted at a potential summer exit in an interview with Georgian media Imedi last June.
