Man taken to hospital after reports of crash
A man has been taken to hospital after a crash last night (April 24). Police were spotted at the scene in Ashton-under-Lyne.
A police cordon was in place on Stockport Road between William Street and Cambridge Street. Several police vehicles attended the incident.
Greater Manchester Police is yet to comment on the incident and has not provided any details of what happened. However, the Manchester Evening News understands that the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is handling the incident.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service told the M.E.N. that a man was taken to hospital. Images from the scene show police officers around a pedestrian crossing near Stockport Road and William Street.
According to one eyewitness, clothing and medical debris were seen lying in the road close to the pavement around 50ft from the pedestrian crossing. Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
