Man taken to hospital after police incident shut Cardiff road
A Cardiff street was closed by police following concerns for a man on a roof. Penylan Road between Wellfield Road and Albany Road was closed between 9.45am and 10.30am today on Monday, August 22.
According to residents, officers were stood blocking the street and asked people to avoid the area. South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was also at the scene.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Shortly before 9.00am this morning officers responded to reports for concern for a man seen on the roof of a property on Penylan Road in the Roath area of Cardiff. A local road closure was put in place. Emergency services attended. The man was assisted from the roof top and has been taken to hospital. The road was reopened at around 10.25am."
