Man's body found on Merseyside beach
Police have confirmed that the body of a man was found on Ainsdale beach. The shocking discovery was made by a passerby who promptly alerted emergency services at around 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 4.
Following the call, emergency responders, including HM Coastguard, descended on the scene where the body was recovered from the beach. Reports came in from eyewitnesses who noticed the significant presence of emergency services in the area, including police and coastguard teams.
As of now, the police have yet to identify the deceased formally. Images circulating show a mobile police station set up near the beach with several additional police vehicles present, the Liverpool Echo reported.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a body has been recovered from Ainsdale beach this afternoon (Wednesday, 4 December). A member of the public called emergency services after discovering the body at 1.30pm. At this stage the body has not been formally identified."
