Man makes 'out of office' movie for colleagues who bother him while he's abroad

There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of setting your out-of-office auto-reply as you close your laptop, ready for a relaxing week away.

Typically, workers provide details about their return date or who to contact during their absence in these messages, sometimes even sharing their destination to make their colleagues envious. However, one man decided to up the ante by creating a "movie" for anyone who decided to reach out to him during his leave.

A guy called @joshfrommarketing uploaded a video of the amusing OOO on TikTok. He captioned the clip: "Our Gen Z marketing guy set this as his out of office".

The comical video, which has earned 1.5 million likes on the platform, kicks off with an image of a plane soaring in the sky. The image is overlaid with a plane button noise and bold letters stating: "I'm out of office".

The scene then transitions to a clip of the employee involved. He stated: "If you're watching this, I'm probably on a plane to Europe right now. Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions".

Amusingly, he sits on a beach as a superimposed plane flies above him. Then he adds: "Number one: When will I be back?

"Two: If you're a recruiter, my personal email is", and although he went on to mention it, the uploader considerately redacted this information, adding in text: "Are you kidding? ".

In a humorous twist, he added: "Number three: For all urgent enquiries, send me an email, and I'll look at it when I get back."

The video concluded with the screen fading to black alongside some cheesy sitcom-style music playing. The words "we'll be back" were also added.
