Man kills friend with a single punch while others put cigarettes up his nose

A man was killed after being knocked unconcious by a single punch at his home which caused him to hit his head on the floor.

Jamie Garwood, 34, was called to victim Richard Thompson's home in Newport on August 30 last year, eventually leading to an assault with dire consequences.

"Mr Thompson was unconscious for a number of minutes, he regained consciousness at one stage but his condition deteriorated and he couldn't be raised. Jenny Chard telephoned an ambulance two hours after the blow I described. During that time Ms Chard saw
