Man from Bolton dies in Blackpool Tower bus crash

A man has died after a collision with a bus near Blackpool Tower on the promenade, police have confirmed.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at about 11.15pm on Friday (September 15). It came after reports of an accident on the Promenade.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s from Bolton, sadly died in hospital today (September 18). The driver of the bus didn't suffer any injuries.

Police are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward. The crash happened near Blackpool Tower on the Promenade, reports Lancs Live. The bus was empty and returning to a depot. There were no reports of any other injuries.

The Blackpool Illuminations started this month and run through to January next year.

A spokesperson said: "A man has sadly died after being involved in a collision with a bus in Blackpool over the weekend. We were called at around 11.15pm Friday, September 15, to a report of an accident on the Promenade.

"A bus had been involved in a collision with a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 30s from Bolton, sadly died in hospital today (September 18). Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

"The driver of the bus, which was empty and being returned to the depot, was not injured.

"We are continuing to appeal for witnesses, and dash cam footage." Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
