Man dies in Scholes crash after car swerves off road and ploughs into wall

A man has died after his car came off the road in Wigan and ploughed into a wall.

The man was driving along Scholes towards Wigan town centre at around 6am today (Friday). Police said his car came off the road before crashing into bollards and a wall.

The 66-year-old sadly died after the smash. His next of kin has been informed, police added.

Officers at Greater Manchester Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now urging any witnesses to come forward. They also want to speak to anyone who has dash cam, CCTV or mobile footage from the area this morning.
