Luke Littler and Peter Wright's awkward lift exchange after Premier League Darts clash

Luke Littler experienced an uneasy moment with Peter Wright just minutes after his Premier League Darts quarter-final win on Thursday.

Littler, who got into the Premier League after reaching the World Championships final in January, came back stronger after a previous loss to Gerwyn Price. He managed to squeeze past Wright in a close 6-5 match.

The teenager moved ahead with an average of 103.99. But there was no immediate time to ponder on his victory in Newcastle.

Straight after their match, they ended up in the same tiny lift at the Utilita Arena. Before that, some awkward small talk took place, with Wright analysing what went awry and extending a handshake with a "good game".

Wright could have clinched the match at 5-4 but failed at the crucial moment. Littler triumphed narrowly, his 170 checkout earlier in the match being a remarkable moment.

Thanks to the young star's win, a semi-final clash is due with Michael van Gerwen, the player who defeated him in week two's finale. Van Gerwen moved past Gerwyn Price in his quarter-final, leading from start to finish in his 6-4 win.

Van Gerwen had a tough time in his match against young Luke Littler recently, missing six chances to win. But the Dutch player won in the end, and Littler still hasn't got his first weekly Premier League win.

Littler lost in the semi-finals but he's been playing well. He's reached one final, two semi-finals, and a quarter-final. This puts him in a good position for the play-offs at the end of the season.
