Man City vs Southampton highlights and reaction after Haaland, Cancelo, Foden and Mahrez goals

Manchester City have moved to the top of the Premier League table with a 4-0 win over Southampton.

It finishes off an excellent week for City following the 6-3 hammering of Manchester United and the 5-0 win over FC Copenhagen, taking their tally to 15 goals in three games.

Joao Cancelo started the scoring with a great solo goal and Phil Foden continued his hot streak by grabbing the second.

Riyad Mahrez got the third with a nicely-struck volley and, just as it looked as though the inevitable goal would allude him, Erling Haaland got in on the act for the fourth.

Pep Guardiola's side have now leapfrogged Arsenal at the summit of the table but the Gunners will have a chance to retake their spot if they can defeat Liverpool on Sunday.

See highlights and reaction from the game below.

Ederson: A spectator for another game, with Southampton rarely getting near him. Good distribution. 7

Cancelo: A game to remind you what a world-class talent he is - on his weaker flank. Southampton couldn't stop him. 9

Akanji: Targeted early on at right-back. Stood up to the pressure and played his part in helping the attack. 8

Dias: Left Guardiola exasperated a few times with the way attackers were able to turn him. 6

An excellent afternoon for City polishes off an even better week. Goals from Cancelo, Foden, Mahrez and Haaland see the Blues go top for a day at least.

Southampton have their first corner of the game and the away fans have gone wild.

As is often the way, the raft of changes has taken any sting out of the game as City aim to see out the 90 comfortably.

Rico Lewis is on for Bernardo Silva.

Gomez, Alvarez and Palmer replace De Bruyne, Mahrez and Cancelo. Haaland stays on!

Nope! He has no weakness at all!
