Man City vs Chelsea live team news as Erling Haaland starts in strong side

Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Manchester City's final pre-season friendly of the summer.

The Blues take on Chelsea tonight in Ohio in their fourth Stateside fixture. And Pep Guardiola's side will be hoping to end on a high with victory against the opponents they will meet again in a matter of weeks when the new Premier League season kicks off.

City have lost two and drawn one of their three fixtures in the States ahead of a meeting with a Chelsea side now managed by former City coach Enzo Maresca. Guardiola has hinted in the build up that striker Erling Haaland, who was forced off at half time of the midweek draw with Barcelona, has recovered and could feature. City remain without a host of star names and will likely field a similar line up to the one that drew 2-2 with the Spanish side.

The Blues return home following tonight's clash to prepare for next weekend's Community Shield with Manchester United at Wembley where they will hope to extract a measure of revenge for last season's FA Cup final defeat.

You can follow all of the action from Columbus - where the UK kick-off time is 10.30pm - via the blog below:

Could this be the last time we see Kalvin Phillips in a City shirt? He’s selected at centre-back and deserves that after his performance vs Barcelona - but Guardiola said after the game that he’s better there because he struggles when there are too many things going on in midfield. Phillips will leave if the right offer comes in, and with senior centre-backs returning on Monday, it’s extremely unlikely he will be selected next week at Wembley. After that, he will be sixth-choice centre-back at best, and seventh or eighth-choice in midfield. It’s hard to see where his next appearance comes from.
