Man City training squad before Crvena Zvezda confirmed as four players missing

Manchester City only had 19 senior players training ahead of their Champions League opener against Crvena Zvezda on Monday.

Pep Guardiola had confirmed that Mateo Kovacic and Jack Grealish won't feature after missing City's Premier League win over West Ham, while John Stones still hasn't recovered from his own injury and Kevin De Bruyne remains out for the long-term. The same travelling squad for the trip to the London Stadium trained on Monday ahead of the Red Star game, supported by youngsters from the EDS.

Guardiola suggested that he will have to play the youth team at Newcastle in the Carabao Cup next week given the injury problems affecting the squad, but he will be keen to go strong to get the Champions League defence off to a good start.

City training squad: Ederson, Ortega, Carson, Ake, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Walker, Lewis, Gomez, Rodri, Phillips, Nunes, Bernardo, Foden, Doku, Bobb, Alvarez, Haaland.
