Man City suffer major double injury blow vs Chelsea but three players could feature

Ruben Dias is out of Manchester City's Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday having asked to come off at half-time vs Paris Saint-Germain this week.

Dias was making only his second appearance on his comeback from injury in France, but was a surprise withdrawal at the break and Pep Guardiola later confirmed that the defender did not feel able to continue.

He has picked up an abductor injury, while City teammate Jeremy Doku was also missing from the PSG defeat, and has also been ruled out of the Chelsea contest.

Guardiola gave a brief update on his squad, saying of Dias: "Adductor. I don't know [how long he is out]. He was stable, always he is able to play a lot of games, this season [he cannot]."

And the manager also backed new signings Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis to make their debuts against Chelsea, saying all three are ready to play after training this week.

"They can play. We don't have players," he said. "Vitor is young, has a huge personality but needs time. Khusanov is already settled, playing in the French league against tough, fast players. Omar was in the training session and I think he'll adapt quickly. An exceptional quality to the team., a future player for years with quality in the final third."

Guardiola also confirmed that Nathan Ake will not return in time for the Chelsea clash.

City will end the weekend in the top four and the Champions League places if they beat fourth place Chelsea, who are one place and two points above Guardiola's side.
