Man City star Ilkay Gundogan drops 'crazy' reaction to Victor Osimhen transfer announcement

Ilkay Gundogan has reacted to Victor Osimhen's shock transfer to Galatasaray. The 25-year-old striker was heavily linked moves to the Premier League and the Saudi Pro League for much of the summer, but a switch collapsed after failing to agree personal terms with Chelsea and Al-Ahli.

In a desperate effort to find a new club before the summer window slammed shut, Osimhen joined the reigning Turkish top-flight champions on a season-long loan. It's said that Galatasaray agreed to pay the Nigeria international's eye-watering salary, worth around €210,000 (£176,000) a week, in full in return for no loan fee.

Osimhen touched down in in Istanbul in the early hours of Tuesday morning after completing his medical, and he was given a warm welcome by supporters. Fabrizio Romano announced the deal on Instagram, which caught Gundogan's attention.

Under the journalist's post, the Manchester City midfielder commented Osimhen's move. He saud: "Wow... Crazy [Shocked face emoji, Nigeria flag emoji, lion emoji, yellow and red circle emoji]."

According to Turkish outlet A Spor, as quoted by the Metro, Osimhen negotiated a break clause in his deal with Galatasaray, granting him the freedom to terminate the loan in January if Napoli receive a bid from one of 10 unnamed clubs. A report from Turkish journalist Kagan Dursun claims Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich are among the teams on his shortlist.
