Man City 'set to sign Hungarian wonderkid Zalan Vancsa'

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of 17-year-old Hungarian wonderkid Zalan Vancsa, according to reports.

Pep Guardiola is yet to dip into the winter transfer market this month with his side cruising at the top of the Premier League table.

Yet according to The Telegraph, City are set to make Vancsa, the teenage sensation who plies his trade in Hungary with MTK Budapest, their first signing of the January window.

It is believed the English champions have reached an agreement with Budapest, meaning their youngster is now set to undergo a medical in Manchester.

Vancsa, who operates as a forward, was also attracting attention from Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Sevilla this month following his breakthrough into Budapest's senior side.

However, City have moved ahead of their rivals to reportedly beat them to the Hungarian starlet's signature.

It remains to be seen whether he is sent back on loan to Budapest for the remainder of the season when the transfer goes through.

Vancsa is not the only potential recruit on City's radar, nevertheless, as they are also in advanced talks to sign River Plate forward Julian Alvarez.

Alvarez, 21, is expected to join the Manchester club for £18million before the January window closes on Monday.

Like Vancsa, the Argentina international has also caught the eye of other leading European clubs, only for City to again come out on top.

Alvarez, who has previously been linked with Real Madrid, is set to remain at River on loan until the end of the season.
