Man City scouts 'in attendance' to watch Bundesliga star this week and more transfer rumours

Manchester City scouts were reportedly 'in attendance' for Bayer Leverkusen's Champions League win over Atletico Madrid, as the club eye-up a move for Moussa Diaby.

According to 90min, City were one of a host of Premier League sides who had representatives watching Diaby's impressive performance during Leverkusen's 2-0 win against Atletico. The 23-year-old is believed to have attracted the attention of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle, as well as the Blues - who were all believed to be present at the BayArena.

Diaby scored an 87th minute goal to make it 2-0 as he was the standout performer for the Bundesliga side on the night. The report claims that City have a long-standing interest in the attacking midfielder, and his performance certainly would have made the club officials in attendance sit up and take notice.

Elsewhere, the Daily Star report that City have 'stalled' contract negotiations with Kyle Walker, who has remained sidelined with injury for his side's last three matches.

Walker's current deal will see him remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2024, and it is now thought that City will look to hold discussions over any potential renewal after the completion of the Qatar World Cup, later this year. The Blues still view the former Spurs defender as their first choice right-back, despite the delay to the negotiations.

Both parties are understood to be 'relaxed' over the situation, although the report does claim that Sheffield United may be a potential destination for the 32-year-old, should he wish to return to his boyhood club for the latter stages of his career.
