Man City 'preparing' Erling Haaland's wages and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly edging closer to offering Erling Haaland a deal at the Etihad Stadium.

The 21-year-old Norwegian striker is currently taking the world by storm with plenty of admirers looking at bringing him on board this summer. Haaland has so far scored 23 goals in just 20 appearances in the Bundesliga with only injury halting his progress.

City have been linked with the forward for some time and are believed to be one of the frontrunners for his signature. Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on the Bundesliga star but are also rumoured to be chasing Kylian Mbappe, which could diminish their finances.

Now Gol in Spain via SBNation report that City have offered Haaland a salary of €36m per season to lure him to Manchester. They also report that Real Madrid €44m per season but that those in the Blues hierarchy have told Haaland that they will match any offer from a rival.

It is hoped that this may help to seal the deal for Pep Guardiola's side to bring Haaland to Manchester.

Meanwhile, City's pursuit of Haaland is potentially changing their recruitment plans at left back. The Daily Mail reports that the money involved in signing Haaland could impact Guardiola's plans to recruit world class left-back, to allow Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker to compete for the right-back spot.

It's claimed Guardiola may go for a cheaper option at left back to provide cover. City's next move at left back is believed to now be fully dependant on how negotiations with Haaland go over the next few weeks and months.
