Man City players secure hat-trick of awards in glowing endorsement of transfer policy

Three Manchester City youngsters have capped impressive seasons out on loan by winning their loan clubs' Young Player of the Season awards.

City have sent a number of young players out on loan in the Championship and below to get a taste of professional football, and most are fighting for promotions - if they haven't already secured them.

Taylor Harwood-Bellis played a key role as Burnley won the Championship, with Sheffield United finishing in second with the help of James McAtee and Tommy Doyle playing key roles.

Coventry are on the brink of sealing a play-off place as their promotion hopes remain alive, as they sit fifth, three points ahead of Sunderland in seventh, with one game to go. In order not to finish in the top six, they would need to lose to Middlesbrough next weekend, and for Millwall and Sunderland both to win.

And helping the Sky Blues keep their chances going into the play-offs has been defender Callum Doyle, who will be looking to add a second successive promotion to his record after winning the League One play-offs with Sunderland last year. In the build-up to the last day, Doyle has been crowned the Coventry Young Player of the Season.

Doyle, 19, signed a new contract at City earlier this season, keeping him at the club until 2027 - with the option of another year in City's favour. He has played 42 times for Coventry this season, starting each of their last 27 Championship games, helping his side keep 15 clean sheets across the campaign.
