Man City player ratings vs Manchester United as Bernardo Silva class
Ederson: Made important saves when he needed to, including from McTominay at 1-0, to show his defensive improvement. 8
Walker: A few loose passes and rash decisions but still kept Rashford quiet and attacked well. 7
Stones: Showed how much City have missed him with vital tackles and control on the ball. 8
Dias: Strong when he needed to be and also enjoyed himself on the ball. Dealt well enough with Hojlund's pace. 7
Gvardiol: Looked nervous early on and was pressured by Fernandes into giving the ball away twice, but recovered and grew in confidence. 6
Rodri: Earned the first penalty with his run into the box and showed himself again to be the main man pulling the strings. 8
Silva: The best player on the pitch, and probably any pitch with this performance. Another Old Trafford masterclass. 9
Alvarez: Struggled to get and then stay involved in the game but still troubled United with his running and put in some good corners. 7
Foden: A needless yellow card and upset Guardiola with some rash play, but worked hard and got his goal. 7
Grealish: Linked up really well with Silva and fully merited his place ahead of Doku. Clever pass for the second goal. 8
Haaland: Two goals and an assist is not bad at all for a man still finding his form. A few more big chances missed but a terrific performance leading the line. 8
Kovacic (for Alvarez, 86) - too late to mark
Doku (for Grealish, 86) - too late to mark
