Man City player ratings vs Everton as Erling Haaland shines

Manchester City eventually overcame Everton to claim a tenth straight win in all competitions.

Pep Guardiola's side were made to work by a dogged Everton side and were sluggish in the first half. However, two goals from Erling Haaland in the final 20 minutes of the game settled the affair to move the Blues temporarily to the top of the table.

Kevin De Bruyne came off the bench to pick up an assist and City will move on to play Copenhagen in the Champions League with confidence next week as their fine form continues. Here are the player ratings.

Ederson: Had very little to do, although did well to stay on for the game after getting an early kick to the face from Godfrey. 6

Akanji: A first start after injury, and switching his time between defence and midfield. Wasn't able to push City on. 6

Stones: Similar to Akanji, couldn't find his top level as he works his way back from injury to top form. 6
