Man City player ratings vs Aston Villa with two 8/10s as Matheus Nunes finds redemption
Manchester City picked up three points at home to Aston Villa as Matheus Nunes scored an injury-time winner. Marcus Rashford saw his shot come back off the post inside the opening minute but City took control of the game when Bernardo Silva lashed home soon after.
That should have given Pep Guardiola's side the initiative, yet they threw it away when poor play saw them give a penalty away that Rashford converted. City disputed it, but few others would.
The Blues had the better of a second half that saw both teams seek decisions from the officials, and then substitute Jeremy Doku found Nunes at the back post with almost the last kick of the game. Here are the player ratings for the City players.
Ortega: Couldn't do anything with the penalty and didn't have much else to do, kicking was improved on the weekend. 6
Nunes: Unlike Dias, he could do something about the Villa penalty but committed another needless error. But then got the winner, so all is forgiven! 7

Silva: Enjoyed scoring his first in four months and he was another who made sure he was everywhere to plug the gaps that Villa were looking to create. 7
