Man City linked with bid for Chelsea's Reece James and other transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly interested in bringing Reece James to the Etihad Stadium following Chelsea's current troubles off the pitch.

James has been one of the standout players for Chelsea this season and has enjoyed a good spell in the side under Thomas Tuchel. However, following sanctions hitting owner Roman Abramovich it has been reported that some players are starting to feel unsettled about the future.

The Daily Mail believes that City will be looking to take advantage of this and are interested in James becoming a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. The 26-year-old has scored six goals and grabbed seven assists in 26 appearances.

In a recent development to the Abramovich saga, the Russian has been disqualified as a director of the London club by the Premier League. This will likely add to the uncertainty around the Bridge.

Elsewhere, Alexander Isak is believed to be an alternative signing to Erling Haaland should City fail in their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund forward, according to Fichajes. The Real Sociedad forward has had an indifferent spell in Spain this season with eight goals in 31 appearances.

The 22-year-old scored 17 goals last season and the Swede's stock has not been lowered among the best clubs in Europe. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal are all thought to be keen on the striker.
