Antonio Rudiger wants to speak to new Manchester United manager and more transfer rumours

Antonio Rudiger reportedly wants to talk to Manchester United’s new manager before deciding on a potential move to Old Trafford.

The defender has been linked with a switch to the Reds, with his future at Chelsea in major doubt. Rudiger’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in the summer, with his exit looking more likely after sanctions were handed down to the club’s owner Roman Abramovich.

United were linked with a January move for the Germany international, although the signing never materialised. The club though are being tipped with revisiting their interest at the end of the season, with defence proving to be one of the problem positions this season.

Rudiger is reportedly open to the idea of moving to Old Trafford, although – according to reporter Christian Falk (via Stretty News), the defender wants to speak with the club’s new manager before making his decision. United are set to appoint a new permanent manager, with Erik ten Hag their preferred choice.

“TRUE: a decision about a future of @ToniRuediger at @ManUtd is difficult,” Falk tweeted. “Rudiger would like to talk with the new coach before…”

United are yet to make a final call on their next manager, although they still intend on making their appointment before the end of the season. Although Ten Hag is the preferred candidate, Mauricio Pochettino remains in the running, while the club have not ruled out an approach for Thomas Tuchel.

Elsewhere, United are being tipped to hijack Tottenham’s bid to sign Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg. Spurs are reportedly looking to step up their efforts to try and land the Sweden international in the summer.
