Man City legend Sergio Aguero drops hint on football return despite retirement

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has admitted that he is already dreaming about a return to football, just months after being forced to retire due to a heart condition.

The 33-year-old, who will go down in history as being one of City's all-time greats, was forced to hang up his boots less than seven months after joining Barcelona on a free transfer last summer. He was substituted during the La Liga giants' 1-1 draw with Alaves in October after needing medical attention on the pitch to treat chest pains and dizziness.

City's record goalscorer underwent further tests in hospital, after which he was sidelined for three months. However, Aguero has not played since, being forced to announce that his glittering footballing career had come to an end at the age of just 33 in December.

However, having had a few months at home to recover, the Argentine has admitted that he is itching to train again, even though he must continue to take things slowly for another six months. Nevertheless, he has admitted that he has already had a call from Inter Miami, in a bid to tempt him to join them.

Aguero told TYC Sports: "Yesterday, it crossed my mind that I could play again. Inter Miami called me but I refused.

"In two years? Let's see. The doctors told me that I have to spend five or six months without activity, but I already want to train again."

Aguero — who joined City in 2011 from Atletico Madrid and netted a record-breaking 260 goals in 390 games for the club — was, understandably, in tears when he announced his retirement at the back-end of last year.
