Man City in fixture farce after FA Cup and Premier League games moved

Manchester City have been handed an erratic schedule by the FA and Premier League as they look to retain their Treble.

Pep Guardiola's side are the only side in action in the midweek before their FA Cup semi-final, facing Real Madrid at home on the Wednesday night. Despite this, they have been booked in to play Chelsea at Wembley on Saturday teatime rather than given a Sunday slot; to add to the confusion, Coventry will play United on the Sunday despite having a crucial league match against Hull two days later as they look to make the Championship play-offs.

With one day less to recover from playing Real Madrid than they might have had, City have had their Premier League match with Brighton rearranged for the midweek after the FA Cup semi-final. However, that has been moved to Thursday, April 25 which then has a knock-on effect for the following league game.

As a result, their trip to Nottingham Forest has been moved to Sunday, April 28. If you are still keeping up, both of these games have the potential to move again if City progress past Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Should the Blues make the semi-finals of their European competition and be required to play the first leg on Tuesday, April 30, the Brighton game will move to Wednesday, April 24 and the Forest game to Saturday, April 27. Fans won't be able to plan for the two away games until after the night of the 17th at the earliest because of the Real Madrid game.

City's schedule as it stands

Apr 17: Real Madrid (h) 8pm
Apr 20: Chelsea (h) 5.15pm
Apr 25: Brighton (a) 8pm
Apr 28:
