Man City given double injury boost but leave Erling Haaland doubt

Savinho and Phil Foden are both available to face Brentford on Saturday but a decision has not been taken on Erling Haaland.

Foden missed two Manchester City games before the international break with a mystery illness and also sat out England games, but returned to training on Wednesday and Pep Guardiola is comfortable with how much better the player is. Savinho, who missed the West Ham match with a knee problem, was also back at the City Football Academy this week and will be back in the matchday squad on Saturday.

Guardiola said that Rodri and Foden had trained 'really good', and Savinho is also expected to be available. However, a decision will be delayed on Haaland following the death of a close family friend.

Guardiola is not expecting an easy test on Saturday against a Brentford team that have started very well. The West Londoners are sixth after three games and usually make things difficult for the Blues.
