Man City get unexpected Ederson injury boost vs Wolves as three players set to return

Ederson could return for Manchester City on Saturday, just days after injuring his shoulder against Nottingham Forest.

Goalkeeper Ederson was injured in the first half of City's win at Forest and left the City Ground in a sling due to raise concerns of a longer-term lay-off. However, scans showed no major injury and it was initially thought he could return before the end of the season.

Now, Guardiola has revealed Ederson has recovered ahead of schedule and already returned to training, putting him in contention to feature against Wolves on Saturday. "Ederson is okay, looks worse but is good, yesterday he trained," Guardiola said, confirming the stopper could feature against Wolves.

Meanwhile, Phil Foden and Ruben Dias are back in contention after missing the Forest game with illness. Both have trained since. Erling Haaland is also ready to start having made his comeback from injury off the bench last week.

"I don't know tomorrow, of course I have doubts for one or two players," Guardiola said generally. "But the rest - the gameplan, what I want to do, I will see the last games for Wolves. But he [Haaland] is ready.

"This week has been good, days off, three really good training sessions. They always train really good. They are more fresh in the mind, tactics, little details. This is the stage, not much [time] to talk about tactics. Fresh legs, minds, ready for the game for tomorrow."
