Man City get major Arsenal injury update as Bukayo Saka England decision made before title clash

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka has pulled out of the England squad ahead of friendlies against Brazil and Belgium just over a week before the enormous title fight with Manchester City.

The 22-year-old did not train with most of his teammates at St George's Park on Wednesday. Saka was inside with Harry Kane, Cole Palmer, and Jordan Henderson for the first session of the week ahead of facing Brazil at Wembley on Saturday.

football.london understands that Saka left the squad as a precaution following a minor muscular knock. He played 120 minutes in Arsenal's last game against Porto in the Champions League more than a week ago.

"Bukayo Saka has left the England camp and returned to his club for continued rehabilitation," a statement reads. "The Arsenal forward reported to St. George's Park with an injury and has been unable to participate in training.

"No further replacements are planned as a 25-man England squad continue their preparation for the forthcoming internationals with Brazil and Belgium."

The Gunners have also seen Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Thomas Partey all removed from international duty with fitness concerns.

City take on Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on March 31. Arteta will be hopeful of having this key quartet all fit for their trip to Manchester as his side will start the weekend top of the Premier League, though they could be second by kick-off with Liverpool playing earlier in the day.
