Man City fans send message to Erling Haaland with answer to Harry Kane question

Manchester City fans celebrated almost as hard as Jack Grealish after winning a fourth Premier League title in five years in unexpectedly dramatic fashion on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign.

And after the club added Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Kalvin Phillips to their squad for the new season, it is no surprise to find out that City fans are feeling anything but blue about their team. Supporters polled across the Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey showed that no other club's fanbase is more confident going into the next campaign than City fans – with an average optimism rating of nine out of 10, pipping Liverpool (8.8) into a familiar second place.

Pep Guardiola and his bosses have refreshed the team and squad from a position of strength, opting to make significant changes after winning the League. That has overwhelmingly been given the seal of approval from supporters, with 91 per cent of them satisfied with the club's recruitment this summer, even if a significant chunk (34 per cent) would still like to see the left-back issue addressed; Brighton's Marc Cucurella is a target, although Nathan Ake would be a loss if he moves to Chelsea.

Somewhat bizarrely, more Leeds fans (88 per cent) think Haaland will be a success in the Premier League than City fans (86 per cent) - something probably best put down to the pessimism of supporters used to Typical City. Brentford fans (62 per cent) are the least convinced in the league that the former Dortmund star will shine – perhaps Thomas Frank has something up his sleeve? But Blues were adamant that they would rather have the striker they signed this summer than the one they failed to last year; nearly three in every four (73 per cent) picked Haaland over Harry Kane.
