Man City crowned Premier League champions LIVE player reaction as Guardiola's squad retain title

Manchester City's status as Premier League champions has been confirmed after Arsenal lost 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.

Forest's Taiwo Awoniyi scored the only goal at the City Ground inside 19 minutes, with Steve Cooper's side able to hold firm and withstand relentless Arsenal pressure.

Consecutive defeats for Arsenal mean they remain four points short of City, with just one game to spare, meaning Pep Guardiola's side are now champions.

The Blues have won 11 straight league games in a relentless run of form as Arsenal faltered, with the 4-1 win at the Etihad at the end of April putting Guardiola's side in the driving seat.

City face Chelsea on Sunday in a game that effectively becomes a coronation, with their position now confirmed no matter the result.

"I think they will [win the treble]. They will be big favourites against Inter Milan and Manchester United. It feels like almost every season they are in with a shout.

"The standards have been raised so high by Pep Guardiola. With a different manager they wouldn't be reaching these heights and for me he makes the biggest difference.

"Will the other clubs have any belief at all that they can challenge Manchester City? At the moment they are on a completely different level.

"Right now Phil Foden can't get in the team, they're bringing in that level of player. That's the difference between them and Arsenal."
