Man City 'could move' to sign West Ham star Declan Rice and more transfer rumours

Manchester City could try to sign West Ham United captain Declan Rice next summer, according to reports.

A number of top sides are expected to make moves for the midfielder, who has been linked with City's Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester United, among others. Pep Guardiola added to his midfield ranks with the signing of Kalvin Phillips last summer and it has now been reported that he may try and add his England teammate Rice to his squad as well.

90min reports that, while Chelsea have Rice "at the top" of their summer transfer wish-list, City could yet move for the West Ham captain as well. It is claimed that City will swoop for Rice "if they feel a deal is there to be done".

Rice would command a hefty transfer fee should he leave the London Stadium this summer, with the report claiming he could set City back more than £120million.

Elsewhere, reports coming out of Spain suggest former City winger Ferran Torres is already facing an uncertain future at Barcelona. The 22-year-old left the Etihad Stadium to join the Catalan giants midway through the 2021/22 campaign for a fee of £48.4m.

But the Catalan giants could now look to sell up after his fall down the pecking order at Camp Nou according to El Nacional. It is claimed that Memphis Depay has now overtaken the Spanish winger in Xavi's plans despite the Dutchman's contract being set to expire in the summer.

However one sticking point could be that, amid Barca's financial difficulties, the club would struggle to recoup much of the transfer fee they paid City for Torres less than a year ago. It means that, according to the report, the solution could be "traumatic" for Barcelona.
