Man City could be 13 games away from securing a £20m cash injection

Despite making just eight first-team appearances for Manchester City, Taylor Harwood-Bellis is no stranger to collecting silverware.

After helping Burnley win the Championship title at a canter last season, the centre-back clasped his hands around the European Under-21 Championship trophy during the summer with England. He is now targeting his third success story in the space of just 12 months with Southampton.

The Saints are currently in the thick of a three-way battle to clinch second spot and automatic promotion from the Championship this season. They are currently fourth in the standings, just two points behind Ipswich Town in third and Leeds United, who they face on the final day of the season, in second.

Though the Saints have recently experienced a minor derailment, losing two of their last three matches, they are still enjoying a campaign, which has featured a 25-game unbeaten run in all competitions, to remember. Prior to their 3-1 defeat to Bristol City on February 13, they had not lost in league or cup since September 23.

City academy graduate Harwood-Bellis played a key role in that record-breaking run, starting 23 of the 25 matches it consisted of. Signed on loan for the duration of the season back in August, the centre-back has been a colossus in the Saints' quest to clinch promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
