Man City Champions League prediction made as Arsenal and Liverpool verdict given

A supercomputer has predicted who will win the Champions League this season.

Manchester City will be looking to reclaim their crown as European champions after Real Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund in the final at Wembley Stadium last term. A so-called 'Swiss model' will be implemented to increase the number of competing sides in the tournament from 32 to 36.

Rather than operate a standard group stage, like previously, a league phase has been formed to guarantee clubs at least eight games. Not every team in the competition will play one another, with UEFA seeding a draw to determine fixtures. Last month, Manchester City found out who they'll be playing – and they've got a couple of marquee fixtures on the horizon.

Pep Guardiola's side will kickstart their European campaign by welcoming Inter to the Etihad Stadium before jetting off to Slovakia to face Slovan Bratislava. Then, the 2023-winners side must play AC Sparta Prague (H), Sporting CP (A), Feyenoord (H), Juventus (A), Paris Saint-Germain (A) and, finally, Club Brugge (H).

There will then be a new play-off round for teams who rank ninth to 24th before the knockout stage commences. Manchester City will be hoping to go the distance and become the first team to win the new-look Champions League.
