Man City can end five year wait as Manchester United weakness laid bare

Manchester City and Manchester United will meet at Wembley once again later today, with last season's Premier League and FA Cup winners going head-to-head in the Community Shield.

After pipping Arsenal to the Premier League title last season, Man City booked their spot in the 2024 Community Shield, and they will take on fierce rivals Man United after Erik ten Hag's side beat them 2-1 in last season's FA Cup final. City have had a poor record in the Community Sheild in recent years, with Pep Guardiola's side having lost the last three – most recently on penalties to Arsenal after a 1-1 draw in normal time. This will be United's first Community Shield appearance since 2016, where Leicester City 2-1.
