Man City backed for routine victory vs Fulham in score predictions

Manchester City are ready to resume their FA Cup charge against Championship opponents Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The Blues have been in formidable form this season, but they endured a frustrating evening against Southampton just before winter break as they were forced to share the spoils against Ralph Hasenhuttl's men.

City cruised into the fourth round after seeing off League Two side Swindon as Bernardo Silva, Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan and Cole Palmer found the back of the net.

They take on Championship high-flyers Fulham this weekend as Marco Silva's men look to cause an upset of the highest magnitude against the Premier League champions.

The free-scoring Cottagers have netted 22 goals in their past five games, as they sit five points clear at the Championship summit.

But how do the pundits think City will get on against Fulham?

Mark Lawrenson - BBC Sport

In his latest column for BBC Sport, the former Liverpool player said: "This is top of the Premier League versus top of the Championship, but I don't think Fulham's attacking style will help them at Etihad Stadium.

"Fulham have scored a lot of goals this season, but that is in the Championship. It will be interesting to see how they get on against the best defence in the top-flight, because it's a huge step up.

Do you agree with Lawrenson? Have your say in the comments section below.

"The Cottagers are another Championship team who will have promotion on their minds, so it's possible they might just decide to go and play their way, on the front foot, and see what happens.

"I don't think they will trouble City too much if they do, but this is like a free hit for them, so why not?"

Prediction: Man City 2-0 Fulham
