Man City announce two more friendlies for pre-season Asia tour including Bayern Munich fixture

Manchester City will take on Japanese champions Yokohama F. Marinos and Bayern Munich in Tokyo as part of their pre-season fixture schedule in July.

The exhibition against Yokohama will take place on July 23 before playing Bayern three days later on July 26, with both matches being staged at the Japan National Stadium. The club had already announced that they would be facing Atletico Madrid in Seoul, South Korea on July 30.

The three friendlies complete their pre-season fixture list ahead of the start of the Premier League on August 12. City faced Yokohama during their 2019 visit to Asia, winning 3-1 with Kevin De Bruyne on the scoresheet.

The Blues will play them again over the summer in the 30th anniversary year of the J-League. City’s most recent encounter with Bayern came last month, the Blues triumphing 4-1 on aggregate in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Speaking about the latest two friendly announcements, Esteve Calzada, Chief Commercial Officer at City Football Group, said: “We are delighted to announce further details of this year’s preseason tour to Asia, completing our full schedule for the trip with two fixtures against Yokohama F. Marinos and FC Bayern Munich in Tokyo.
