Man City ace Erling Haaland backed to smash 36-year record as '100 goals' prediction made
Erling Haaland has started his Manchester City career in the way many expected him to.
The Norwegian arrived from Borussia Dortmund in the summer with a fearsome reputation having bagged plenty of goals in his relatively short stay in the Bundesliga. And he has transferred that form to the Premier League with 11 strikes in just seven games for City. His exploits in the Champions League take his tally to 14 in 10 games.
Even at this early juncture, Haaland has been tipped to surpass Clive Allen's incredible record from Tottenham's 1986/87 season. Allen memorably scored 49 goals in all competitions for Spurs during a single campaign.

But Haaland, if he carries on at a similar scoring rate, could surpass that tally by some distance. Allen himself even suggested, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, that the 22-year-old could bring up a century of goals this season.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Allen said: “It’s not going to last (the 49-goal record) to the new year, the way he’s going! It’s quite incredible, he has been in absolutely stunning form.
"I had 26 on Boxing Day, and that was always my marker when I look now at players who are scoring lots of goals. But Haaland has been nothing short of sensational for Man City. He’s going to get 100, I think!”
