Man City £47m bid 'rejected', Joao Cancelo transfer clauses and more rumours

Manchester City have seen a £47million bid for Matheus Nunes rejected by Wolves, according to reports.

MEN Sport reported this week that City are looking at the Portuguese midfielder and Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze after ending their interest in Lucas Paqueta. Palace are understood to value their star playmaker at £70m and have already had success at fending off interest in their exciting players from big clubs this summer.

Nunes had an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League at Wolves which soon attracted links to Liverpool and now sees him on the Blues' radar. Midfield has proven to be a problem as Kevin De Bruyne has been ruled out for the rest of the year after undergoing hamstring surgery.

According to the Telegraph, City's first offer for Nunes has been rebuffed. However, it's stated that Pep Guardiola's side are likely to come in with a second offer.

Elsewhere, Joao Cancelo's loan move from City to Barcelona will have clauses to make the move permanent, according to reports.

Cancelo has been ostracised at City since returning from his shock January loan move to Bayern Munich. The Portuguese full-back was shipped out after growing frustrated at Pep Guardiola's rotation policy and subsequent lack of guaranteed minutes.

Bayern opted against activating their option to buy Cancelo permanently this summer, with Barcelona heavily interested. Talks over a move have been ongoing for some time and a deal is expected to be agreed.
