Man City 115 FFP charges reality as Arsenal and Liverpool await Premier League decision

Manchester City are on the verge of creating English football history and on the balance of play this season, it would be deserved.

While the Blues have spent less time at the top of the Premier League than their rivals Arsenal, they have been ruthlessly consistent as Pep Guardiola's team of 'mentality monsters', to coin a phrase from Jurgen Klopp, look to win their fourth consecutive top-flight title. The victory at Tottenham Hotspur was not pretty and some may say City lived up to their moniker of 'boring' in the first half but they got the job done.

Now, Guardiola's men know the challenge is simple. Beat West Ham United and they will write their names into the history books.

A draw would open the door for Arsenal who have a better goal difference but City have an exceptional record against the Hammers and they have not lost to them in normal time since September 2015. While the Blues will fancy their chances to do the job, the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal will be hoping the courts can earn them their glory.

Currently, City have 115 Financial Fair Play (FFP) charges looming large over their success after the Premier League accused them in February 2023. The Blues have vehemently denied the accusations from the top flight and it is understood they are preparing evidence to prove their innocence.

However, should the unthinkable happen from a City perspective and they are found guilty, the punishment could end up being catastrophic. The charges against City are unprecedented so there is no way of knowing what could be handed down.
