Man charged with racially aggravated assault after 3am town centre attack - a man is fighting for his life
A man has been charged with racially aggravated assault following a 3am attack which left a man fighting for his life.
Adam Farrell, 25, of no fixed, about, is due to appear in court today in connection with an assault in Rochdale town centre on Sunday.
Mr Farrell was appearing before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today (Monday) charged with section 20 assault, Greater Manchester Police said in a statement.

It follows an incident at around 3.15am on Sunday, February 27, where police responded to a report of an unconscious male on Packer Street in Rochdale town centre.
Police enquiries later established that the man had been punched and had fallen to the floor.
"He remains in hospital in a critical condition," according to GMP.

Police are continuing to appeal to the public for information about the attack, particularly taxi drivers who may have been in the area at the time.
