Man charged with possession of an offensive weapon and ammunition for a firearm
A man has been charged with a slew of offences including possession of an offensive weapon and ammunition for a firearm following a police warrant in north Manchester.
Mark Lucas, 43, has been charged with non-fatal strangulation, actual bodily harm (ABH) possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, and possession of ammunition for a firearm when prohibited for life.
Officers raided the address on January 21 of this year following reports of an attempted assault. Police say ammunition was recovered at the property, as well as an offensive weapon.
Lucas, of no fixed abode, has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court on February 27.
In a statement, the force said: "Mark Lucas, 24/08/81, of no fixed abode has been charged with non-fatal strangulation, actual bodily harm (ABH), possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, and possession of ammunition for a firearm when prohibited for life.
"He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester Crown Court on 27 February 2025.
"The charges relate to an attempted assault and recovery of ammunition at an address in north Manchester following a search on 21 January 2025."
